What is a wedding Consultant?

The confusion surrounding the terms wedding
consultant, bridal consultant, wedding
planner, wedding coordinator, etc. is
unfortunate.  Some vendors have used these
terms to describe whomever is dealing with
brides.  This misconception has proved to be
tragic for some brides when they find out that
all they are dealing with is a liaison for a
particular company only.  A REAL wedding
consultant is a professional trained to assist
a Bride in planning every detail of the wedding.
 The consultant will get to know the bride and
groom's personal tastes and desires for their
wedding.  The consultant will know and advise
proper etiquette and help to keep the peace if
any family disagreements should arise.  The
consultant will refer reputable and reliable
vendors that will suit your needs, set up
appointments with vendors  you select, attend
appointments, look over contracts to ensure
they are complete and correct, advise you on
all upcoming payments and deadlines with
vendors.  The consultant will schedule and
oversee the delivery and set up of all
contracted services.
                                                      Things to ask a consultant??  
1. Is the consultant able to help you with ALL the details of your wedding?or just the company they      
    represent? Are they working to save you time and money? Are they working on commission?
2. Will they be at the wedding and reception?
3. Will they coordinate the other vendors the day of the wedding?
4. Will they run emergency errands so that the Bridal party does not have to?
